As a result of the Reading survey completed by parents during the last school year, “Book Club’s emerged as an area of interest.
We initiated our first Book Club Session on Thursday 26th September 2013 in Our School Library. Eleven girls took part and will continue for 5 weeks after which twelve more girls will begin another 5 weeks. These sessions will take us up to December. We will then review the activity and hopefully continue with other groups in January.
Suffice to say our first session was most interesting, informative and enjoyable……
We have just purchased 12 books of 3 different titles which we will us over the next few weeks.
- “Stay Where You are and Then Leave” by John Boyne
- “The Boy who swam with Piranhas” by David Almand
- “The Last Wile” by Piers Torday.
Our hope is that each group member will have a chance to read the 3 books…….
