We had a wonderful Day at the Old Rectory in Croom for our School Tour. According to most it was “the best day of our lives”. the sun was shinning too. There were lots of wonderful activities to enjoy- grassy open play areas with swings, trampolines and sand play. There was a ‘Sensory Trail’ which we did wearing dark goggles, it was thoroughly enjoyed by all. We had a baking session, where we all received a ball of dough and cutters of different shapes to make our own cookies. The cookies were baked and ready to take home at 1.30pm, it was great fun.
Next we went up to an attic room in the house to make a rocket. We were given lots of reclycled materials and a raw egg. This had to be parceled without breaking it. When the rockets were ready they were drop from the top window to see if the egg would withstand the impact. It was great fun.
Lastly we visited the outhouses to meet the animals- chicks, gosslings, pups and best of all I think two very friendly donkeys.
