There was an energetic start to term two in Salesian Primary school as a new fitness initiative began. “Fit for fun” is a short aerobic exercise session ,before school,on two mornings a week. Enthusiastic pupils were red faced but smiling as they began classes, energized for the day ahead following the sessions. “It’s great fun because you’re doing it with your friends…it wakes you up before class” said Grace ,a pupil in fifth, who also thinks its important to get fit for health reasons.”There is a big emphasis on being healthy in the school already with a comprehensive PE programme and a strongly encouraged healthy eating policy so this initiative aims to further encourage overall wellbeing”,said Principal Jenny Dooley Ryan. The initiative continues throughout January.
